Creative Retreat

My team booked Mountain Shadows as a creative base for preproduction of an upcoming project.
In short, what an incredible experience! The intent of the retreat was for team building and to aid in the creative process. Mountain Shadows helped us accomplish just that. The amazing home and mountain backdrop provided the perfect setting to accomplish all our goals. We left refreshed and energized and will definitely be back.

Awesome Corporate Retreat

I hosted a corporate retreat for real estate clients in November 2023. There were 19 of us total for 2 1/2 days. I was specifically looking for a place that is close to Sacramento but also out in a quiet area so we could unplug and do business planning for 2024. I found this spot and it worked perfectly. The main home and the smaller homes are awesome. The house is super clean, the internet is fast, the views are amazing and it’s just what we needed for an impactful retreat. The best moments were in the covered porch area in front of the fireplace between activities - lots of breakthroughs and open dialogue that we would not get to experience in a typical venue. In the past I’ve used hotels in Roseville and Sacramento, but now that I found this spot, I’m going to be a regular. I will also say that my interaction with the owner Brian was very professional. He is detailed and made sure I had everything I needed to host a great corporate retreat. I can tell that he is passionate about the local community and I appreciate how much he knows about the history of the area. Really good place to be quiet and think without distractions.

We had the most amazing stay at Mountain Shadows Retreat! The venue is beyond beautiful; us and our guests were in awe! It’s so secluded and serene up in the mountains! The house is cozy and welcomes you just like home. Scena and Brian were amazing to work with, and so accessible if we had any questions or concerns. We hosted our wedding of 120 guests, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect! No complaints at all, and we’d definitely love to stay again 🙂

Perfect spot for a team event

Booked Mountain Shadows and some of the cabins at Miner's camp for a team retreat and it was absolutely perfect. We had 20 people which I thought was just right for the space. There were multiple people I spoke to in helping to organize logistics/accommodations before and during this event. Everyone was kind, knowledgable and helpful. Definitely would come again whether for a retreat or personal vacation. You can't not enjoy coming here with the view Mountain Shadows provides!

Amazing Wedding Venue

If I could give more than 5 stars to Mountain Shadows I would do it in a heartbeat. This venue gave me a wedding experience I will never forget. The views are spectacular, which so many guests loved, and we got to spend each night after setting up sitting out under the stars with our friends and family. The house is well maintained and beautiful, with space for family and friends who wanted to stay and continue enjoying the venue with us. I can't thank the Mountain Shadows team enough for their hospitality- they have an amazing staff and connections to local vendors that are so generous with their services and time. The wedding day always passes in a blur, but my husband and I walked away from this venue feeling so lucky that we were able to have this once in a lifetime experience. Thank you Mountain Shadows!!

Best experience

I started the treck to the retreat with a lot of stress. Upon arrival Scena and Charlotte greeted us and explained the process. Good amount of stress left. Not only are they super hospitable, they are all around genuinely caring and super organized.

The fresh air and scenic views also helped calm me before the wedding preparations. I loved the rain and clouds. It was like the perfect ambiance to go into our wedding. Scena helped to ensure the guests would be comfortable outside. She even looked at each detail...things that we may have overlooked. Overall I recommend this place for a wedding, event, reunion, family time, etc. Super comfortable stay and the views were just wonderful!

We just had our daughter's wedding here and it was fabulous. Gorgeous views! We utilized every inch of the property from the wedding area to the reception and dancing area to games on the lawn and swimming in the pool. Family and friends stayed in the house and the tiny homes. The owner and staff were extremely helpful with the entire planning and there to help us every step of the way. Great accomodations and venue for your wedding or any gathering that's totally inclusive.

Absolutely perfect!

My entire family truly enjoyed mountain shadows! Everything was just so perfect and breathtaking. We enjoyed a catered lunch on the big deck, delicious breakfasts in the huge kitchen, and fun BBQs on the patio! The kids loved the pool of course! I would definitely recommend for a wedding, vacation or family get away! The staff is friendly, kind and very helpful, I feel like they were my friends from the get go!

THE BEST VENUE FOR OUR SPECIAL DAY! We are so happy that we chose to celebrate our wedding at the Mountain Shadows Retreat! Both Brian and Scena were amazing to work with before and during our stay. They were both so accommodating and helpful! The property is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of inside and out! We will definitely be coming back to visit in the future!!

OUTSTANDING PROPERTY

What an amazing location for groups. We had 22 people staying 4 nights. Everyone had enough space We didn’t even want to leave the property. Hung out at the pool and had great dinners on the deck watching sunset every night. What an amazing million dollar view. I was worried the fire last year may have really cause damage. You could see in the canyon areas that were burned, but we were very happy with what we saw. A little over 2 hours from San Francisco Mountain Shadows was the perfect , private getaway we didn’t have to share with anyone. Call out to the Shadows staff for making sure we had everything we needed.
