We had staff from around the country that had not yet met each other and Mountain Shadows was the ultimate location to set up shop and focus on our business for a few days. The Shadows staff were great and the views are magical. The house was perfect for our team of 10. We also used the tiny homes that are on the property for additional lodging. Those were so creative and unique with big windows looking out into the Canyon. We are looking forward to coming back to Mountain Shadows twice a year and make it our special meeting retreat. Outstanding stay.
We hosted our 15 person team at Mountain Shadows & Miners Cabins. It was the perfect size for us all. Everyone could have their own room, and there were several different breakout spaces. The location was beautiful and and all the accommodations were good quality. Would highly recommend!
From our first interaction with Brian, to the efforts made to meet our time schedule, the Mountain Shadows group was amazing to work with. The setting was inspiring and really helped to fuel the creating thinking we needed to tackle our work. And the relaxing setting was great to unwind with at the end of the day.
We just had our wedding here and it was more than I could possibly imagine. We kept our guest list small and intimate which was perfect so you could really enjoy the views and all the property had to offer. The house on the property is stunning and the reception site is so beautiful you hardly need any decor. The ceremony site is so beautiful with the most perfect background. Highly, highly recommend.
My wife and I rented mountain shadows for our wedding. We had 4 other couples stay with us for the rehearsal and wedding night. The venue is really nice in letting people spread out inside, it worked out great for sleeping arrangements. We had about 75 people come out for our wedding and everyone fit comfortably underneath the barn area. The ceremony on the fake grass area overlooking the mountain was spectacular. The host was great and even let us stay an extra day. The fireplace area outside was a great hangout for pictures and cigars both nights and was cozy even though it was cold. The only thing missing was a hot tub! We would love to rent the place out again in the heat of summer to enjoy the river, mountains, and pool.
If you are looking for the most picturesque, amazing wedding venue, you have come to the right place! Mountain Shadows makes it so easy to book, host, and relax for your big day. Every single guest said “absolutely stunning” venue. Make sure to book extra days so you can enjoy the quiet and serene atmosphere you are staying in.
We had our wedding at Mountain Shadows Retreat and it was everything we could have imagined and more! Our guests raved about the spectacular views, the peace and quiet the space provided and the overall vibe that Mountain Shadows provides. It was true peace and serenity. Brian was very helpful and accommodating while inquiring and reserving the space. Truly a hidden gem!
Mountain Shadows is spectacular!
Foresthill may not be the first place that comes to mind when you start talking about bachelor parties - but as a group of friends spread around the country - Mountain Shadows was the perfect location to gather and have a great time. There is a nice hiking trail right near the property and plenty of space for everyone (it's really an entire complex). The tiny homes were fun - and very functional!
We were treated with stunning sunsets every night. Brian and Maryssa were incredibly responsive and did everything they could to ensure we had a great stay. Highly recommend.
We had the most magical wedding experience at Mountain Shadows retreat! The view is breathtaking and the home is very well kept and clean! Plus not only is the property completely dreamy, but Brian and his staff are the kindest, most supportive team to work with! They made everything so easy for us.
Definitely utilize Mama D’s catering from Brian’s list of vendor rec’s! She put on the most gorgeous brunch display and was wonderful to work with. If you have a large party (esp if they are from out of town) make sure to ask Brian about Miner’s camp which he also owns! 16 mini cabins .5 miles away made it so convenient for our guests! Also the 2 mini homes located on the property— so cool! We rented those out for our best man and maid of honor— they both raved about that experience as well! They said it was like glamping but nicer!
The advice I would offer others planning a large event at this venue would just be to make sure that you have a clean up plan in place (whether you hire clean up staff or make sure your guests know where to throw trash away and that it is their responsibility to do so, it was a little thing that we didn’t think about that would have saved us some energy at the end of the night of our event).
All in all, if you love the outdoors like we do— you will not find a better spot to host your big day! Would give it 100 stars if I could!!
I was the best man at the wedding this weekend. Thanks for providing an opportunity to provide feedback on the Mountain Shadows Retreat + Tiny homes experience.
First and foremost…. WOW! The midnight sky when the moon is gone, galaxy galore! This tiny home has all the essentials you could ever need and additional thoughtful touches. I’ve always been intrigued in the Tiny Home experience and this totally exceeded my expectations. The air conditioning, heating, ceiling fan, and quality bedding linens ensured the experience to be extraordinarily comfortable. As I had mentioned there were several thoughtful touches such as the dimmable led lights for a couple lighting fixtures, extra chairs, microwave, stove, hot water, kitchen & dining utensils, coat rack, complimentary Keurig coffee assortments, toiletries - to which those came in clutch when I ran out to shampoo so big thank you on that one!
As I’m sure you’re well aware - the whole Mountain Shadows Retreat offers a breath taking view into the Foresthill valley. The layout is intuitive to figure yourself out throughout the quite cozy home. I actually had ran into a couple who had stopped by the road admiring it and actually told me the story of how you repurchased this childhood home. They commended all of the enhancements done over time.
I did get a chance to visit the cabins as well and while my visit was brief, I was actually really impressed with the interior. Everything looked either new or very much well maintained.
I do want to say thank you on behalf of Alexi,Victoriano, and all of our mutual friends and family for hosting us. This is absolutely an experience and venue I will never forget. I would 10/10 recommend and also would consider return for a holiday
Oh PS - Marissa and the rest of the staff were great! Big thanks for coming by when the batteries to the tiny home keypads did seemed to have ran out.
