At Mountain Shadows, we like to think of ourselves as the anti-venue. We have no preferred vendors, no add-ons, and no hidden fees. Featuring three acres of lush forest, a spacious cabin, and on-site tiny homes, Mountain Shadows has everything you need to host a wedding that will bring everyone together in place.
With our four-day wedding weekend, you can take things slow, live in the moment, and spend more time with your loved ones. Arrange a welcome party, have a casual rehearsal dinner, or plan a delicious day-after brunch with your caterers to create a memorable weekend for you and your guests!

When you book your weekend at Mountain Shadows, we give you full access to our three acres of lush forest property. You have the complete freedom to customize your special day from the welcome party to the post-wedding brunch.
Our venue offers a heated pool, covered outdoor fireplace, 3,500-square-foot barn deck, a spacious kitchen, and more so you can make your wedding the experience of a lifetime!
The Accommodations
Mountain Shadows Retreat is the perfect venue to gather friends and family in one place! Our venue sleeps up to 24 guests on-site so that everyone can enjoy your wedding weekend together. The master suite features a private deck and en suite bathroom for the happy couple. Our property also has a one-bedroom apartment, a separate casita, and various tiny homes for additional guests!

For couples who dream of a gorgeous mountain wedding, The View is one of the most picturesque settings to say “I do” in Northern California. Surrounded by lush forest, The View features a sprawling lawn and panoramic views of the American River Canyon. This romantic backdrop is the perfect spot to exchange vows, share heartwarming toasts, and capture breathtaking images of you and your partner. Whether you’re hosting an intimate affair or a large celebration your guests will be in awe of the stunning mountain views!
Pole Barn & Extended Deck
Our 3,500-square-foot, partially covered barn deck is a unique setting for dinner and post-matrimony celebrations. With lovely views and romantic lighting, you and your guests can eat, drink, mingle, and dance the night away. The barn deck is also a beautiful outdoor space for other events like breakfast, rehearsal dinners, and more. From the welcome party to the post-celebration brunch, the deck is a versatile venue for celebrating with your loved ones!
Custom Tiny Home Lodging Experience
We are always bringing ideas to life enhance the guest experience. Our tiny homes are for the guests you want on-site that are not in the main house. The units are placed throughout the property and include spiral stairs, rooftop decks, portal windows, attached decks, amazing views, and of course, the whole Tiny Home Experience.

Guest Accomodations
Located just minutes from Mountain Shadows Retreat, Miner’s Camp features 16 individual cabins for additional guests to stay. With tasteful, modern, and rustic designs, Miner’s Camp blends the old and the new, taking inspiration from the local mining history both on the grounds and in each of the cabins. Miner’s Camp offers plenty of space for enjoying the outdoors including a BBQ, fire pit, and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities. With cozy rooms and nearby recreation areas, your guests will love this opportunity to get away and relax!
